This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

I had some trouble making my center piece the correct size AND have it lay flat.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

Odds and ends of quilt fabrics

What was your inspiration?

All the colors of my scrap basket!

What are you most proud of?

Placement of the petals.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The first time I sewed on the central circle, I didn't like it. So, try and try again - I picked out the machine stitching, cut a new circle 1/2 inch larger and sewed it on by hand. Not terribly fun but it made the center much more flat.

Hi Daisy, you have given me an excellent idea for all of the sweat shirts I have bought with the hope of someday decorating for gifts. I had planned apliques but never thought of beautiful apliqued quilt designs with underlying batting. Next Christmas... all thanks to you
