What advice would you give someone starting this project? The first time I sewed on the central circle, I didn't like it. So, try and try again - I picked out the machine stitching, cut a new circle 1/2 inch larger and sewed it on by hand. Not terribly fun but it made the center much more flat.

Hi Daisy, you have given me an excellent idea for all of the sweat shirts I have bought with the hope of someday decorating for gifts. I had planned apliques but never thought of beautiful apliqued quilt designs with underlying batting. Next Christmas... all thanks to you
