What was your inspiration?
I have been a Craftsy member for a while now and have enjoyed watching the videos over and over again. I recently re-watched Jenny's course and came upon the tote bag project (in the strip quilting video) and thought that I would have to make that bag. the fabric was from Moda and is called Lemon Tree. I wanted something that had a bit of "spring" in it. Jenny is really my inspiration! Your enthusiasm for quilting and sewing is very inspiring. I became a Craftsy member when her video first came out. I still watch her Youtube videos and get inspiration from them as well.
What are you most proud of?
I am a great procrastinator, putting off till tomorrow what I long to do today. I have more than a few UFO's (unfinished objects) and continue to buy patterns and courses on Craftsy, but am really lax about starting anything. Until this spring when I became inspired and started and finished this project within 1 day. thanks Craftsy and Jenny for inspiring me to get busy and get crafting!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
take your time and go step by step. I found it really useful to use my walking foot once I had quilted the outside of the bag as it was quite thick and that made it much easier on my old kenmore sewing machine. . I had to let go of my perfectionist tendencies when I was quilting the bag. my lines were not always straight but I am satisfied with the result.
