Tortoise Shell Purse

Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Tortoise Shell Purse »

Instructions

This purse is inspired by... you know...from its name....the turtle.
The adorable patchwork purse is the proper way to recycle you fabric scraps and the leftover padding. With this handy size but roomy, it is large enough to carry your cosmetic set or coins.

Finished size : 4 ¾” x 4 ¾” (12cm x 12cm)

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Cute

Materials

Several color cotton fabrics, polyester padding(batting), 4" zipper.

What was your inspiration?

The turtle!! Of course.

What are you most proud of?

This is a challange for sewing several set-in seam and to improve fabric selection skill and hand piecing skill too. All seams and corner are matched and no bulk seam inside. This purse is made from a whole miniquilt that joined neatly at the sides.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This project is almost done by hand, is a excellent project for hand sewing and hand quilting lover. You can do it everywhere. When I tested this pattern, I finished my first purse in a day and made it faster for the 2nd as I found the new way to assembly. The new assembly details is in my current PDF PATTERN. http://www.craftsy.com/pattern/quilting/accessory/tortoise-shell-purse-/33958

I wrote the new assembly details (easier way) that I found when I made the 2nd purse in the current pattern. It's the latest and final edition.
