What materials did you use? Used t-shirts, 100% cotton fusible interfacing, and cotton fabric for the sashing and cornerstones.

What are you most proud of? How much my niece is going to love this quilt and how excited she is to get it. She wants it to snuggle with in her college dorm room... I told her snuggling with it will be like snuggling with Sasquatch. I hope her roomie doesn't mind ;-)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Iron on the fusible interfacing BEFORE you cut the t-shirt blocks to size. I used 100% cotton fabric interfacing. It was expensive and made the blocks a little heavy, but I wanted the quilt to last the test of time (I have had to recover and repair a number of my blankets for this niece... she literally loves them to death). You might want to use light or medium weight fusible interfacing instead.

Glad to hear it! I had known how to do it for a long time, but this one was my first.

I'm working on a similar project for a co-worker.

How long have you been working on it?

I'm sure her Grandchildren will hear the stories around each block someday. With all the heart and love in this beauty....they'd better!! haha. What a wonderful gift.

The girl, and her future girls & boys, will love it for years to come I'm sure. Thank you!

I use tricot interfacing on my t-shirt quilts - it is very lightweight. The key is to have the stretch of the tricot go the opposite the stretch of the t-shirt.

Thanks for the advise! I'll look into that and maybe try that next time.
