Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Torch-Fired Precious Metal Clay »

Instructions

The copper was dried on light bulbs to give it that slight curve.

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

Art clay copper (it's the only one you can torch fire), crystals, & findings

What was your inspiration?

I was experimenting with copper clay and how well it torch fired.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Copper takes longer to torch fire--5 to 7 minutes or longer--so you need patience.

Hi! I love the texture and the curve you gave these - and how you combined them with the crystals. Some of the students are trying out the copper clay first before the silver - what words of wisdom can you tell them as they work with it? Welcome to the class!!
