What materials did you use? Flesh coloured cotton, printed poly cotton, brown wool, lace & ric rac.

What are you most proud of? The hair took a long time to stitch in place, and I had to adapt the instructions in the pattern to get a good coverage on the head.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? The bodice and sleeves of the clothes patterns didn't fit the doll, so I had to increase the size of them. Also don't snip to close into the neckline as mine came away slightly when trying to stuff the neck firmly. if I made another one I would sew a gentler curve for the jaw line, as it looks a bit strange on the finished face.

To Lynn Acheson, Please are you able to supply a copy of your Topsy Turvey doll as per an edition of Women's Weekly in the 1970's. I made this for my daughter, now 41 and she has suggested I make one each for my 3 granddaughters. I would love to, but 3 or 4 moves ago I lost a wooden box full of patterns. This pattern was among them. Many thanks Noreen Rayfield. E-mail Noreen.rayfield@
