|Here are some details about my project:|
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Supplies listed in the Topsy Turvy Cake online class, Fondant/gum paste cutter machine, Satin Ice Fondant, Homemade gum paste for the cutter, Disco Dust, Air brush & colors, Number & Alphabet cutters, and lastly.... lots of patients :)
What are you most proud of? The 18 year old graduate was so excited when I brought it to her - she loved it! I love to see the faces of people when the get one of my creations - its priceless!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Best advice - don't wait until the last minute! Be patient with yourself and expect the unexpected. Make sketches of your final project, it really helps you prepare. Prepare the cake, icing, fondant & gum paste even a week before it's needed - just be sure to store the food properly (freeze, vacuum seal, etc). Make the gumpaste items in advance so they will dry throughly and always make extras. Always be prepared to alter your design due to unforeseen circumstances (as I had to in this cake).
