Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Sewing With Knits: 5 Wardrobe Essentials »

Instructions

The course is great. It gave me the confidence to make some minor changes to the pattern - I shortened it to tunic length, added a modesty panel, and made the sleeves longer and wider. Next time I would make it a little smaller, but it is wearable and really comfortable.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual

Materials

Bamboo jersey

What was your inspiration?

Meg's enthusiasm and teaching skills.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time when sewing on the elastic and don't be afraid to stretch it. I found it a little tricky.

Beautiful - I like how your neckline turned out, very professional looking. I don't why you'd make it smaller - it's very flattering to your figure as it is. Great job - I might have to take the class myself....

I really like it! Is Bamboo Jersey very expensive? I bet it is so soft being bamboo! Great job. Was this your first knit project?

Thank you. I bought the bamboo jersey from Truro Fabrics (UK) when I was on holiday, and have just looked online and it is 14.99 a metre. You are right it is really soft. I had made the fleece hoodie but this was my first light weight knit.

Thank you, that's kind. I saw the modesty panel on KarenH246's project so the credit is hers :).
