Materials

I collected toilet rolls, and cut them in half, and some in quarters and stuck them together with a glue gun. I then spray painted it black, and highlighted a few "petals" yellow to match the highlights in our bedroom.

I'm using this idea to make a tree for a summer display at the library! Thanks for the idea!

What a great idea to use the empty rolls instead of throwing them away. Very unusual - will start collecting now!

Ooops - I just noticed you poseted a link to the pattern. I can't wait to try this. Now... I've got a lot of work to do to get those toilet paper / papertowel rolls saved up. I live on my own, so who knows when I'll get started on this project and I think my friends and family would think it's weird if I started asking them to hoard empty rolls for me - LOL!

Even with 5 people in the house I still asked friends and family for empty rolls (but they already know I'm weird :).

Very interesting project - I love the modern look to it. I too would be interested to know if there is a tutorial on how to do this somewhere. - Thanks!
