What was your inspiration?
As an Apron designer, I am always looking for new projects. This one came from a customer who asked for an apron for her grandchild that would grow with the child.
What are you most proud of?
I love that this is something that will not be outgrown overnight. Just by changing which front tie is attached to which back tie, it can expand as the child grows. When they are small, the back sections cross making it a sweet pinafore. When they get a little older, just uncross the straps, and fasten the button, center back, voila' a nice little smock-type apron for those messy craft projects.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
As I always say, Have fun with it. Remember, it is a very small amount of fabric, so if you mess it up the first time, not much loss... just start over.
