I used a Silhouette Cameo cutting machine to make and cut custom applique shapes. To make the applique and the bag I used scrap fabric, quilted batting, fabric interfacing, and quilted interfacing. I sewed it with my Singer Advanced sewing machine.
What was your inspiration?
The minute I saw the mini course for this pattern I knew what I wanted to make. My baby girl just loves playing with my bags. I thought a bright colorful bucket bag would make her happy.
What are you most proud of?
Well, I didn't sew perfectly, but with the help of the tutorial I was able to complete the bag. And, my baby just LOVES it.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I am a self taught sewer. I've never had a formal class. My mother sewed a lot when I was a kid but I never learned from her. I loved having a video course to help me step by step. If you are a beginner like me, please take a look at tutorials on how to properly adjust your machine for proper tension, and practice with scraps until it's perfect. You CAN make this bag. You really can!
