Once again this was enspired by a project I saw on "Windflower". The photos don't properly show the detail I'm afraid. I love doing french knots so the floor of the scene was a delight. I used all six strands of embroidery thread as well as tapestry wool and crochet purl in browns, oranges and greens. The original scene just had Fly Amonite toadstools but I had seen Amethyst Deciever toadstools in our local woods and so had wanted to include them too. I also like doing stumpwork for the oak leaves and the acorns. Then I found an artist online - Claire Moynihan, who does 3D creatures on of which was a snail. I tried to copy that but the snaill ended up too skinny! I partially hid it under a leaf to try and disguise this. To finish I slightly padded the underneath and machine stitched the edge to prevent fraying and to fit it in the wooden bowl we have.
