example of free-motion quilting
What materials did you use?
My son's activity/participation/event t-shirts from birth to 18, cotton batting, cotton backing.
I am making one too - for my grandaughter. (Softball.) I am putting the shirt fronts on the quilt front, & the shirt backs on the quilt back. I put softball fabric sashing between the blocks & then a white 1" trim around the whole thing, then a 4" border of softball fabric, dif. from the sashing. I will sandwich & quilt each front & back separately, since they will be different, then put them together & quilt them in "safe" spots that will look good for both sides. This is FUN!
It is fun! These tees are from my son's activities from birth to 18, so his newborn tee from the hospital and his biofuel project senior are included, and everything in between! It was a joy to relive all the memories by myself as I made it in secret, and then again with the whole family when I surprised him with it :) It sounds like your planned project will be very nice - I can't wait to see it, so be sure to share when it's done!
