Instructions

My usual appeal to buy good quality supplies and UK fabric make just for Tilda dolls. It is on eBay.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Cute, Whimsical

Materials

All the same materials that I use to make all the TIlda dolls. Fabric from the UK. stuffing, cloth for clothes. Face that I made myself from at home things. Use your own blush, black marker, and floss for the noses. No need to pay $25.00 for Tilda face kit. Ouch!

What was your inspiration?

Sweet Home Decor Book by Tone Finannger. This is my second doll. I like this one the best though. Her robe and slippers were fun to make. Amelia took three days from start to finish so it is very hard to put a dollar amount on her to sell. If I was to even make $3.00 an hour, it would cost $72.00 for labor not to mention about $15.00 for supplies. The TIlda fabric is very costly. I paid about $4.58 for a FQ. So that is about $18.00 a yard. But you can get about 4-6 dolls out of one yard or about 8 animal dolls. So not bad really when you consider how well they turn out using their cotton weave. Just search Tilda fabric on eBay and you will find it.

What are you most proud of?

I like to say that I am thankful and not very proud of myself really.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use good supplies and take your time. It is well worth it!

cont......I was with her and that she is never alone. It was a comfort to her plus it looks like me as well. Sort of without the big nose.....I am a Brit so maybe the nose fits.

Thank you! It was hard work. I make lots of them and they take so long that I can't make any money selling them. But thanks!
