um, yeah, TAKE IT! this course is genius!

i listed the project as "advanced", because after you finish, you'll feel like an absolute pro.

Materials

cotton and more cotton, for underlining and fashion fabric. i also used a double sided thick jersey for the bodice underlining.

What are you most proud of?

that i actually followed the course and didn't try to just do it my way, i learned SO much and watching the videos was awesome.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

follow gertie's instructions and you will NOT fail.

FABULOUS!!! As a girl that rarely likes prints and anything loud (despite my profile pic) this is fantastic!! Looks so great on you! And looks $$$$ which I think is the best compliment a sewer can get. =+)

I kept saying to myself, "I know that smile"...but where! I live in New York too, and thought maybe I may have taken a class or something with you, then it dawned on me...you're an official Tarantino girl! "Death Proof", how wonderful :) P.S. I love this dress and I have to make one for this summer!!

How beautiful! You did a great job! I am inspired. Did you fit yourself or have help? Firing myself is a real challenge even with my duct tape double. Thanks for posting your project. It is very helpful .

hi jackie, thanks-- yes, i fit myself, back when i did it i just had me. gertie's course made it easy, and inserting a zipper on the muslin bodice for practice was SO helpful. the zip needs to be long enough as if it were in the dress, i just zipped it up with the back on my front, spun it around, eyeball gaps and threw pins in till it looked right.
