What was your source for this piece?
Tell us a little more about your inspiration. Many years ago while working as a registered nurse on a cardiac intensive care unit, I looked after a fairly yound man who had suffered a heart attack, but was now recovering. At that time I had just taken part in my first juried art show, with a display of my equine drawings and was very excited as I'd sold 6 of them. He asked me to create one for him, but of his champion boxer dog that had recently past away. It was a postumous piece recreated from a photo of his champion show boxer dog - Cherry Burton Tiger Pete. It is the center piece of my re-creative work to this day and have re-produced this as a graphic file to add to needle art projects. My most popular one being a graphic pillow I sell on etsy.com It was the first of many canine portrait pieces I created over a number of years.
Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this piece. This was created using graphite pencil on high quality drawing paper. It was from a photo of the subject after the animal had passed away.
