Throw Pillows

Stitch and Slash Throw Pillows

Stitch and Slash Throw Pillows

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stitch & Slash »

Instructions

Unlike mine, use more patterned fabrics for layers 1, 2 and 3.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Casual, Funky

Materials

Batik cotton fabric

What was your inspiration?

I loved the contemporary look of the pillow that was created in the class. And I needed new throw pillows for my sofa!

What are you most proud of?

That the finished product fit the pillow form!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Cut samples first to see how you want your fabric slashed. If you live near a shop that sells fabric (unlike me), buy small pieces to try out first. Make sure you get the look you want.

Thank you so much. I bought the raku bowl several years ago and can't remember where! I'd love to make more pillows or anything using this technique. It was so much fun.

Thanks, Carol. I learned a lot doing this and would love to make more. I wasn't super pleased when I started slashing, but I think they turned out ok.
