Through the Looking Glass Pendant

Pattern Info

This project was designed by LaBellaJoya.

Instructions

This is a super easy and quick project that requires only a few materials. It's a combination of brick stitch and peyote stitch woven around a metal connector.

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Preppy, Whimsical, Retro / Vintage, Cute, Mod, Hipster, Casual, Funky

Materials

A metal link from MissFickleMedia, Size 8, 11 and 15 seed beads, Wildfire or Fireline beading thread.

What was your inspiration?

Brick Stitch was one of the first stitches that I learned and mixing it with peyote gave me the inspiration for an oval pendant with beaded "stripes".

What are you most proud of?

How quickly this project is worked. In less than an hour you can have a perfect beadwoven pendant to give as gifts. The finished products looks way more complicated and involved than it truly is.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Mix up the colors! Don't be shy about trying different color combinations and even bead sizes!

This is cute. And I can see an easy way to use a smaller connector to make matching earrings!

As I posted to your blog, this pattern is a godsend. I have too many pony beads to count and am looking for ways to use them, and I didn't know this technique existed. Some little girls I know will love some brightly beaded necklaces for Christmas! Again, thanks so very much!
