Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

Materials

Cotton fabric, muslin, batting, polyster boning and one cup of crushed walnut shells

What was your inspiration?

needed a small wastebasket for thread scraps near my sewing machine and serger

What are you most proud of?

That it is so functional and useful. The shells give the pin cushion enough weight that the thread catcher easily hangs at my sewing or cutting table.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just follow the instructions step by step

nicely done, did you use something special to hold the catcher open?

It is polyester boning whcih is used in costuming for corsets and bustiers. It holds it's shape but is s bendable. I found it at JoAnns.
