What materials did you use? 100% Cotton, 100% Simply Cotton Batting.

When I read that the centre square of the Old Log Cabin Block represented the hearth as the centre of the home, and the 'logs' used to build it were the old clothes of the people who lived in it, I just found it SO inspiring, I used the Gold Japanese fabric to represent a light in the window.

They're set to be table mats for the coffee table when I get them all finished. I finally plucked up the courage to get the walking foot out, Day-um but it makes it a whole lot easier to sew lol. I made a right mess of the binding though, way too much material on the mitred corners, might be because there are more than 4 and a mitre only works for 90 degree angles. Back to the drawing board!
