What materials did you use?
What are you most proud of?
That fact that someone commissioned me to do this for them as a gift.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
take your time and follow instructions and you can create a beautiful keepsake also.
Oh! my goodness...this is so beautiful!!
I am so intrigued by portrait quilts. This is unbelievable. Do you just sketch it on the cotton, and then cut it out, trying to resemble the photo? Do you have to be an artist to do something like this? It is magnificent. Do you fuse the fabric down or stitch around it? Where can I learn something like that?
Oh!! Awesome!!! Such an extra special gift!!
In your comments you mention "follow the instructions". Would you be able to tell us where to find the instructions?
I bought a video class from interweave.com called Making Faces by Marie Elkins. Since then I have watched many different videos on doing the same thing in a few different ways. You have to find the way that works best for you, but this video was a great place to start. Hope this helps. http://www.interweavestore.com/making-faces?source=igodigital
