What was your inspiration?
Ever since I was a kid I loved headbands. They are the perfect easy hair accessory, but recently I was craving something different. I warped up my loom and began a take on Claudia Chase's tapestry cuff bracelets (as seen in Beadwork Magazine). My main goal was to make the headband full of texture and bright colors.
What are you most proud of?
This piece was somewhat of an experiment but the finished piece was exactly what I imagined and it really is a great project for a beginning weaver.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Decide on your colors before you begin to ensure they all work together. You might also want to use some tapestry techniques in the woven headband to add some extra detail.
