What was your inspiration?
My friend made something similar from a pattern in a magazine, but she couldn't remember what magazine. So I went home and designed to include my favorite turning technique.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
A walking foot really helps when you are sewing the vinyl. I use mine for a lot of projects, so it's worth the investment.
You could also quilt the exterior if you'd like.
