Knitting: The Seamless Artemisia Sweater

The Seamless Artemisia Sweater

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
The Seamless Artemisia Sweater »

Instructions

I loved this class. I finished my sleeves a little differently because I wanted them fitted at my wrists.

Also, at first my neckline was looking extremely large coming almost to my shoulders with the smaller size needle. I actually dropped down to a U.S. Size 1 needle for my neckline and the wrist ribbing. My larger needle was a U.S. Size 6 instead of 7.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Classic, Cute, Casual, Mod

Materials

After learning I'm allergic to wool, I used my old standby soft and inexpensive Caron Simply Soft 100% acrylic yarn.

What was your inspiration?

I'm a lover of anything seamless when it comes to knitting. The neckline and sleeves intrigued me, so I gave it a try.

What are you most proud of?

I love the way it looks and feels.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just keep playing back the video and keep your written pattern nearby as well.

Your bust darts and waist darts work well and are intriguing enough to sell the class! You display many good techniques (sleeves, lace, darts) and did a nice job showing them off. Thanks for sharing!

Mercedes, Any way of adding the lace pattern to the sleeves and making a bell-like 3/4 sleeve? I would take the class in a heartbeat if you did t

Thank you! I had to use smaller needles, especially for the neckline, which I ended up using a U.S. Size #1 to knit. The rest of the sweater I used a #6 needle. My stitch gauge was fine, but my row gauge was off. That wasn't too critical though. Have fun knitting yours!

Beautiful!! I like the way the white shows through the pattern. I am assuming you are wearing just a simple sleeveless top underneath? It looks great on you!
