A mens XXL tshirt, and a red table cloth both salvaged at my local thrift store.
What was your inspiration?
I have been making dresses' from Large Tshirts for a good while now, I am BIG on comfortable clothing, so I catch myself wearing my favorite sleepy shirt a whole lot. I decided how great would it be if I would wear my sleepy shirt out and about without getting the evil eye from other folks thinking "what a bum". Here it is! I then proceeded to cut the neck out of the shirt and the sleeves off and sewed up the sides to fit me well. Later on I started thinking how many fun things you could add to the tshirt dress, so not only is it cool, comfortable, cute, and can be worn in all types of weather but its easy and fun to make too!
What are you most proud of?
The pockets, I took a small piece of trim off the sleeves I originally cut off and folded them so small and right to fit them under the lip of the pocket to give it just the slightest bit of fun accenting to match the main color of the dress, they look great if you ask me!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be afraid, don't worry you are going to mess something up and go with it. OH and try it on often! Make alterations as you go.
