What was your inspiration?
This skirt was inspired by the designs of Ulyana Sergeenko
( http://thehomeblues.blogspot.co.il/2012/07/my-russian-blues.html ). I wanted to make something with a Russian flair that will also be flattering for my curvyness.. I love this length she brought back to fashion- just above the ankle. I feel a bit like my grandmother in the begging of the century, Very romantic,
What are you most proud of?
The fact that this is my own pattern and it was pretty easy for me to do. I used a lot of couture steps and techniques on this project too. There was a muslin, I marked the seam lines and was generous with the seam allowances, and as usual I did a lot of hand sewing. But it feels fantastic, like I am wearing something expensive.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Enjoy the process as much as the out come.
