The rose quilt

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Women

Style: Romantic

Materials

I used So Soft acrylic fabric paint putting fabric medium on the brush first and then paint only on the tip. The roses both painted and quilted are from the same stencil from The Stencil Company

What was your inspiration?

I have always wanted to do a wholecloth. This is almost a wholecloth. With the information in Cindy's class, I was able to utilize stencils and make the design my own. I changed the feather design by not only putting the rose in the center but by doing the over/under feathers. I knew the micro quilting would change my background color and even highlight the feathers more than just puffing them out.

What are you most proud of?

I am learning and growing.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I worked up to it slowly. I practiced some of Cindy's techniques and applied them.

wow, I've been wondering what you've been up to... this is beautiful, the roses look so real. And I love the rose mixed in with your over, under feathers. Is that a small (tiny) feather filler int he middle - whoa!

Deb, you did a FABULOUS job on this quilt! I just can't get over how great the red borders and flowers look with the wholecloth-like quilting you did here. I bet you spent some TIME quilting this one, and it looks to me like your hard work totally paid off.
