What are you most proud of? The finished coat, which was not my favourite project by a long way, looks great - it's quirky, eye catching... and looks great on! Unimaginable when I started it but it actually works really well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Don't! :)

Thank you. The pattern is my own design and for the moment I won't be publishing it - sorry!

I have found a pattern similar to this coat if you are still interested. It's McCall's #M6800

I need to make this ASAP for my granddaughter. She sent me the picture and I would love to make for her.. Where should I start... what material should I use knowing that she lives in Florida??? any suggestions

Hi I made the pattern for this myself. You could start with a Victorian style coat pattern... I would suggest a medium weight cotton gabardine with silk lining.
