What was your inspiration?
A Victorian nursery was my inspiration. Although the bears are a brand new design I aged them and the ellie to appear timeworn. I wanted to place them in a scene that reflected that idea, The composition is a little 'busy', though.
What are you most proud of?
This photo was taken in ordinary daylight in my conservatory. I tried photos using pale green, pale pink, pale blue and cream backgrounds before settling on black. I love the fact that the colours are exactly the same as the hand dyed mohair I used for the bears. Getting the colour right is SO important when selling bears over the Internet.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I'm not good enough at photography to give advice, but natural light and large artboard backgrounds work for me.
