What was your inspiration?
I wanted a special gift for my 2 year old grand neice. What's more special than a handknit toy!
What are you most proud of?
The construction overall. This project was very satisfying to put together, not difficult at all. Also, poly pellets are used for the bottom and the feet. I used about 1 oz of pellets for each foot, that I enclosed in old knee-highs (cut off tops, tie a tight knot) and then sew those into muslin pouches.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Have no fear. Susan's videos are very easy to follow. You can repeat as often as you need. My skill with DPNs is much improved. Starting another giraffe for myself.
