What was your inspiration?

Several years ago,I saw a tv program that showed how to crazy quilt. I started using the technique to make purses. I then expanded into quilts.

What are you most proud of?

This was the first quilt I ever made. It was a make-it-up-as-you-go project. Once I got the top done, I was terrified to quilt it. I am fairly good a free-motion but only on small projects...so it sat for several months until my friend said, "Would you get that thing done! Just do it!" So I did. It took me forever to quilt it. I love it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Follow the directions on my blog and make some different blocks. Some of these have five different fabrics and some have four different fabrics. Just don't cut parallel lines or your block will be too small (the seam allowance will eat up the fabric). The finished block size is 8.5"
