What materials did you use? The quilt was made from shirts and khaki pants that my late father-in-law wore. He was a house builder and his name was Jack, so the quilt had to be named "The House That Jack Built". What else? There are six house blocks in the quilt--one for him and his wife, and one for each of their five children. Batting was a blend of 80% cotton and 20% poly. I quilted it with monofilament thread since there were so many different fabrics in the quilt. I wanted to put prairie points around the quilt but in a moment of eco-friendliness, I decided to use the cuffs of his shirts. No need to throw anything away, right?

What are you most proud of? I gave this to my mother-in-law for a birthday present a year after her husband died. She loved it, as did her kids. Not a dry eye in the house that day!

Absolutely lovely quilt and what a great bunch of memories. Beautifully done and I love the cuff border!
