is there anyway that I may get help from Crafty?
I don't think so. I don't have any teaching videos. The way to work with the colors is to start by copying the colors as close as you can I guess. Then keep adding layers of paint to get closer and closer. You will notice that most of the 'edges' are soft. That is because I go through days and days of changing colors a little here and a little there to get something I like. Adding a another layer of color here and there to change things slightly in one part of the painting or another. I don't think that you can get this effect without being prepared to spend a lot of hours on a painting and practice building up layers of color. A lot of trial and error goes into making a painting...and thus a lot of patience :) For instance I probably started out with the sky yellows, oranges and blues and started changing the blues to greens by layering over the blues with yellows. Then I added some layers of white to the green near the cloud to make it look like the sun was behind the cloud.
Thank you so much!
I love the colors! Is it water colors?
Thank you! It is acrylics. I have been working almost exclusively with acrylic paints for about 25 years now.
What class in craftsy was this a project for?
sorry. No class. I have been posting my work to show some possibilities with acrylic paints. I have not been in the position to be able to afford to film and produce a class yet
Thanks a bunch! Have been working on something for the last couple of months (one of those 'struggling' time periods painters go through :) ) and hope to be able to post it soon.
