What was your inspiration?
I take my knitting and/or crocheting with me everywhere I go... This is usually easy if the project is small, has just one or two yarn colors, or has just started and hasn't gotten too big yet. My problem was I didn't have a nice bag that I could fit an entire afghan project in, carry on my shoulder, that would be durable and be able to sit on the floor/chair/table without flopping over. My solution? To create the Everything Bag out of my favorite bag material, denim.
What are you most proud of?
I've been making and creating denim bags for years but the Everything Bag is the first one I ever actually made a pattern for. It has sold in local quilt shops and craft stores, and I have taught classes for it. The wonderful thing about this bag is it can be individually customized by the embroidery and lining to match the use and personality of the person it is made for.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
The sky is the limit for this bag. Choose any color denim and a lining that you love! Don't forget a wide selection of embroidery thread!!
