Old door, stripper, sander, stain. 1x3 pine top and crown molding

What was your inspiration?

I see these doors, all the time and knew they could be born again so to speak. I got this at our local habitat for humanity store. So many things can be made from them.

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the fact that it is recycled for the most part and the way it turned out...love the grain and how it showed up.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Make sure the door doesn't have too much fill in ...putty or wood filler spots. When I used a top grade filler it still didn't want to take the liquid stain...it was supposed to. I then applied a gel stain..a little bit messier and it took great. I will be doing more of these and creating other things out of the doors. Excited!
