What was your inspiration?
This Craftsy BOM course! I had already signed up for a couple of classes when this free course was introduced. I could not resist the BOM and 'mystery' factors, and then it was free to boot! Thanks Craftsy, and Amy for being a great instructor.
What are you most proud of?
That I am finally selecting my own fabric combinations! I usually use kits, bundles, and patterns for guidelines. Oh! I have to admit, since this is an unknown finished project (mystery BOM) I am following the colorways fairly closely to be sure my overall effect will be pleasing. Without knowing all the blocks and placements, I am a little timid about fully branching out on my own.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If not using a coordinated fat quarter bundle, audition all of your fabrics in advance, or at the very least, compare each new fabric choice with the finished blocks in your quilt top to try to maintain a pleasing overall appearance. (This is not as easy as it sounds). :-~
