Hello Scheri.( Sorry, problem with my connection.) I work with my muslin but am not so happy with that dress. Thinking of changing to another pattern in a little different design. Its something with that midrif and the sleeves that is not "connected" to my body...

You should not fit the sleeves until you have the skirt and bodice (with band\) fitting perfect. Then fit the sleeves. I would suggest that you just start with the muslin of your bodice first. Work on that till it fits perfect. Then move onto adding the band. Once you have the bodice with the band then work on the skirt portion. Then when all is good then check the sleeves.

Thank You Sheri I try that. Perhaps I make it without sleeves. at first I wanted The Dress in wool but if I make it without sleeves I could make a summer dress. Maybe I go for the wider skirt.

That sounds like a great idea. Work with a lighter weight fabric and the full skirt for dress one. Dress two do the wool dress in the fitted skirt

Wow.... this is impressive. I've looked at the preview for this class and wondered if I'd be interested in it. I can't tell you how long it's been since I wore a dress!!!! But maybe if I could get one that fits I'd be interested....... You should make a bowl or vessel out of all your threads..... see one of my projects.....just a thought. Love the heart!

Great muslin dress. Would love to see the final dress! I put this course also an my wishlist. It is such a nice dress fitting so perfect when it is right done. Did you have to consult somebody to measure everything, especially where you're your eyes can not see (back)? How did you manage this?

Thank you innerwave. I think this first muslin was awful... I had my husband to help me a little and I posted pictures in the class and asked Susan and got some great advice. Most of the time I worked by myself. Put the dress on, looking in the mirror with a pencil in my hand and marking on the fabric what I want to adjust and then take the dress off, make the changes and put the dress on again.... on and off several times. I have made three different muslins and the two latest are wearable. I have to take some photos of them and add here.
