What was your inspiration?
My friend (who has the last name Colvin) asked for a chunky hat with a couple of large buttons. I found some bulky/bulky yarn and sat down to whip it up. This little free pattern was created. You can get a free copy of it off my site: www.ginakanouse.blogspot.com. I also make and sell them in my etsy shop.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud that I can offer a free pattern to the knitting community. This hat knits up in about 1-2 hours and is a great pattern for gift-making. I am also super proud that I knit and donate these hats to fundraisers and charity auctions.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
It is a fun and fast project and my favorite part is picking out the buttons! Don't be afraid to mix up the buttons either. You can use 1 or 2 large buttons, or layer buttons on top of each other...whatever you want!
