Thanksgiving Jumper

Turkey jumper

kiss on back shoulder
raggy edge applique
Turkey jumper

Instructions

You can use any jumper pattern for this. If the pattern doesn't call for a lining make one anyway. The jumper will hang better, be warmer and be reversable. It's actually easier to line a garment than to make the facings you'd have to make otherwise.

Type of item: Clothing

Materials

all cotton

What was your inspiration?

I like to make Holiday dresses for my g-daughters.

What are you most proud of?

It's really cute.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

If you want a jumper to be reversable put the buttonhole on the strap & buttons on both sides of the jumper front. And use bias binding on the bottom edge instead of a hem. I made my own from coordinating fabric. It's easy to do.

New Look 6578. I nipped it in a little at the waist, elliminated the facings, lining it instead & added a hand made bias binding at the hem to hold it together. I also added pleated & bound pockets. This pattern is sized 1/2 to 4. There are a lot of similar patterns out there.
