What advice would you give someone starting this project? - Save a few candy melts so you can melt them down and use them as glue for the flowers. - Tips for a smooth and pliable modeling chocolate (I used Wilton's recipe for candy clay and Lauren Kitchens' tips from her Craftsy class): 1. Don't overheat the candy melts when melting them. 2. Lightly warm your corn syrup before adding it to the candy melts so it doesn't shock the chocolate. 3. Mix slowly and thoroughly to incorporate all the corn syrup. 4. Once the chocolate starts coming together, resist the urge to over mix it.
