Turned out very nice. Next time you make a garment like this grab your favorite sweater out of the closet, put it on and mark where it ends on your body. Then measure that and call it your length. When you are knitting your vest (or sweater or what ever) add X rows near the bottom. The instructions will probably say knit Until the measurement from the ribbing to the armhole is X inches, just know what measurement you want and keep knitting until you get there. If there is waist shaping in the garment be sure to add the extra inches before you get to that shaping section. Hope this helps! Love your vest, you did a really good job.
