What materials did you use? Cotton fabrics, cotton thread, poly batting, home decor fabric for backing. I just improv pieced the sections and did machine applique on the star. I got to practice some of my FMQ on each section. It was fun to make and my grandma who lives in TX will love it.

Love this! Your fabric choices make it look perfectly weathered!

thanks! i was trying for a more 'classic' color scheme. Your video on potholders made me want to start making more small fun projects. They come together so fast!

I lived in Texas for many years and hope to move back when my husband retires. This would be a great way to use my stash to create something for my table to remind me of home!

Is there a pattern posted for these placemats?

I just found an image of the texas flag online to get the proportions of the rectangles and then traced the star from a sewing book (cookie cutter would also work).
