What was your inspiration?

This coin purse was inspired by wrapped glutinous rice dumpling (粽子, Zngzi) of a Chinese traditional festival, DuanWu Festival (端午節).

What are you most proud of?

I made 4 of them and gave 3 away to friends and 1 for my daughter. Now, I need to make more because everyone is asking for one.
The tetrahedron shape make it a good coin purse since you can see the coins clearly and pick the one you need.

How kind of you to share this adorable little purse pattern.I made a few to give as Valentine gifts to friends, and their little girls.On the girls purses, I embellished with glitter ribbon and colorful hearts sewn on, and they turned out really great!:) I will play around with different designs, and you are the BEST for sharing! Make it just a little larger for a really cute cosmetic case or a pretty little mimi handbag in just the right fabric -- fancier fabrics for evening or a bridal party, casual fabrics for everyday to carry the cellphone, ID & as few dollars. Great gift idea in any size! So many possibilities, so little time...

iHi I have found some really different and interesting Zippers at a place in my city called JoMar. I you find a place that has a bin of zippers. like a fabric district in your area.

I have made several of these in various sizes-from big ( for bathroom bits 'n bobs) to tiny purses. I have used extra left-over patchwork squares from one of my projects. The squares were the same color scheme, but different patterns which made the purses quirky, It was a perfect way of using them up! Thank-you for this tutorial and the extra dumpling info - Interesting!

I have made these for myself and friends . I made them a little larger and lined with heat resistant fabric and put my traavel iron in it. Add a loop at top to carry it by.

I saw this pattern as a knitted purse ,no zipper, I am going to sew these as gifts. Currently, I am making small rectangular zippered bags and am mastering that T-Rex zipper LOL. This gives me another fast gratification project .I love them!,,,,

Have printed out your pattern & instructions and hope to finish one that is as good looking as yours. I have some left over pre-quilted purse fabric that I thought would be perfect to try. Can you cut down any size zipper?

i need help in reading crochet pattern do you know where i can go to look at videos or if someone can tell me what this means how can you do 12 scs then on the next row do 24 scs andleave the rest unworked that makes no sense to me

sound very confusing, but my rough guess would be sc2 in eact stitch for the 12sc, so, 2 x 12 = 24.
