What materials did you use? 100% cotton jersey. One print and one solid.

What are you most proud of? I think I finally have the pattern fit adjusted.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Definitely do a test garment for this class.

My next step will be to hand sew the two jackets together, using button twist thread.

Oh I can definitely sppreciate how an FBA might be a challenge with this DKNY pattern. I wonder if it works to choose the size based on a bust measurement and then adjust the pattern below the bodice? The design complexity seems to be above the bust vis a vis the collar etc.

Other than sleeve length, I think this is challenging for most fitting adjustments because of the one big piece that is most of the jacket. To alter it, I had to cut pieces that were fused together apart, and then do the alteration, and then put them back together. I like the fit with this last one. I was able to pin the two jackets together last night, so even though the fit is a little bit different between the two, along the main seams they are the same. I have to take a deeper hem in the brown side in a few places, and I will have to wrap the edge of the collar with a band deep enough to catch both fabrics and use the hand stretch stitch, but I think I will wear this jacket a lot.

Such pretty colors for your real jacket!

I used the hand stitching to stitch the 2 fitting layers together. I am very happy with the way this turned out. Even though the undercollar is a different fabric, I think it kind of looks like a scarf when I wrap it up around the neck. The weight is heavy enough to be a coat here in Sunnyvale, CA in all but the coldest part of winter. So now I get to start the real coat with stenciling and embellishment.
