Instructions

It's a vintage pattern from the 70's, and I've made about 11 dresses from this so far cuz I love it. And I can. It's almost like wearing nothing, which is nice in Texas summers!

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Retro / Vintage, Whimsical, Mod, Funky, Outdoorsy, Cute, Casual

Materials

I used a large piece of terrycloth I found at the thrift store, that was previously a tablecloth or twin bedcover, not sure which! It's like wearing a thin towel and is ever so absorbent!

What was your inspiration?

The fabric. Bright, 60's flowers in warm tones are right up my alley. I was going to a dayparty outside with bands and a kiddie pool and figured I could splash around in this and it could double as a towel. 100 degree weather + this dress = awesome.

What are you most proud of?

The material. I wish i could say I made it, but just finding it and having it cooperate with my sewing machine and my idea was just delightful.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Repurposing rulz.

I think it helps that you're adorable. Such a cute dress and I love that the fabric inspired the dress. Darling!
