Materials

Terry cloth and coordinating flannel.

What was your inspiration?

Sewing for children and infants.

What are you most proud of?

These ensembles make lovely functional baby shower gifts. They can be coordinated to nursery decor, gender of child (pink or blue), and are very useful.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I recommend washing the flannel prior to using, then tearing a 1" strip from one end to find the true grain of the flannel. Then place selvedge edges together aligning the top torn edges, and press. You now have a straight grained piece of flannel that will not twist or distort after construction.

Great tip on finding the "true" grain of the flannel. I stopped using flannel for this type of project for that reason. Looks like I'll be able to go back to using flannel again. Thanks!
