InstructionsUsing Carol Ann Waugh's instructions as a guide, just start adding cords, yarns, use those decorative stitches on your machine, then add beads and more beads. I used a purchased artist's canvas for the base and added a black fabric edge to frame the project.
Type of item: Home Decor
Style: Funky, Mod
Hand dyed fabric, various yarns and cords, threads, and beads
What was your inspiration?
An art competition called Artfields will take place in Lake City, SC in April, 2013 and i wanted to have an entry but I don't paint or sculpt but I can sew and quilt! My first Stupendous Stitches was so much fun that i decided to use the skills that I learned to make an "artsy project" to enter in the competition. Today is the deadline for entry so i finished just in time. Now i have to wait to see if my art is among the 400 entries accepted for the competition which has a total prize package of $100,000.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the look of the final project and that I completed it by the deadline. I stayed up many nights til 2am sewing on beads!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just follow Carol Ann's instructions and have fun.
