Quilting: Taming the Shrew

Taming the Shrew

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Mod

Materials

various findings, cotton material, silk material, buttons, wire, page from a Shakespeare book, beads, alcohol ink, wire, metal disks, ribbon, batting

What was your inspiration?

I had so many findings and I wanted to try to incorporate as many as I could without overdoing it. The mixed media DVD's from Interweave Press helped a lot.

What are you most proud of?

The theme. It is called Taming of the Shrew and you may notice that the quilt becomes more tame as you move counterclockwise starting in the left corner.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't let yourself be inhibited!

Thank you! It was greata fun tomake and I kept thinking of all the pros' advice: it may look like a mistake but keep at it. Mistakes, in the end, may turn out to be very beautiful. I made lots of mistakes on this one and while it may not bebeautiful, it is a little interetsing.
