Instructions

The mittens are my interpretation of a pattern I saw online once, another improved version specifically knitted for a mitten competition in Finland.

Novita Rose Mohair, and Schoeller and Stahl Ronda white, and Ironstone Color Changes

What was your inspiration?

I was sick for a week. I sat on the couch, knitted and coughed. These are some of the things that came out.

What are you most proud of?

The owl mittens, an homage to a pattern I once saw somewhere (was it Webs?), but adjusted to my sense of what is a good fit, and then I used the eyes and covered their backs with a small knitted patch as well, which gives them extra structure for the heads, and added warmth over the always cold phalangies. (digits, fingers....right?)
