What was your inspiration?

I had stumbled onto this pattern a while ago, and had knitted a few patterned solid color tams previously. I just had to give the color pattern a try.

What are you most proud of?

I actually like the mittens an awful lot, although the difference in the yarns make them rather sloppy, I'd probably now knit the mittens with smaller needles and pay a little bit more attention to the design as I had nothing else but a picture in my head to start with.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Try a simple color switching pattern first, and get familiar with moving the yarns behind the work with ease before you attempt to do something like these, it is a bit too easy to pull the whole piece out of whack with inappropriate yarn tension.

I've been looking everywhere for a pattern for these mittens. Can you tell me where to find it?

I'm sorry, no pattern. I just looked at a picture and made them. I started with 40 cos, You have to fiddle a little bit to make the pattern accommodate the thumb additions which you can easily see if you look at the detail.
